 New Jersey - Home Sales Tax

The NJAR successfully fought efforts against a local realty transfer fee. A major component of the campaign was the use of GetActive.  GetActive helped NJAR communicate with both membership and the public. Nearly 30,000 letters were sent to lawmakers.

Georgia - Sheet Metal Theft

The bill dealing with metal theft had fierce opposition from the metal recycling industry and members of the General Assembly.  Within 48 hours of launching, this campaign generated over 1,100 emails.  The final vote total in the House was 141-20 and almost 20 House members rose to speak against the bill.

 Nevada - Pools POS

This bill would have imposed POS requirements to add a secondary pool barrier or motion-sensing alarms. The campaign was a great success, with a 14.2% participation rate, higher than the state's average federal CFA response rate.

"It certainly raised the profile of the issue to a new level and and it made an impact in the Senator's willingness to hear out Realtor concerns. In the end it was not passed out of Committee. The use of the call for action was very successful and instrumental in our overall strategy in defeating this bill." - Isabelle Crawford
