Atlanta Board of REALTORS® - Atlanta City Council City Run-Off GOTV
The highly competitive 2009 runoff election in Atlanta was a watershed event for Atlanta RPAC. The difference between the two mayoral candidates could not have been more stark: A former state senator with a long history of support for real estate issues, and an at-large council member who had been on the opposite side of nearly every REALTOR policy initiative in the last four years. There were three other down-ballot races that were also crucial, including City Council President. The Atlanta RPAC-supported candidate for mayor, Kasim Reed, won the runoff by a margin of 848 votes. Although we lost one of the down-ballot races for an at-large seat, the GOTV campaign was a smashing success for Atlanta RPAC.
